European Goldfinch...escapee?
I thought I'd discovered an exotic, rare bird. But area birders said European Goldfinches are brought to the U.S. for the bird pet trade.
Rumor has it that a pet store in Chicago has released some of these birds when they don't sell, as they've been spotted here in the past.
