This photo of two black-capped chickadees -- one at a suet feeder, the other hovering in the background -- was featured on National Geographic's "Your Shot" website for April 2007. The page features work from amateur photographers. John submitted the picture because he liked the tension created by the intruder bird, who had to decide what to do next. It also is a one-in-a-million shot; it wasn't planned. The bird flew into the frame just as the camera shutter button was pressed. The photo also appeared on page 153 of the September 2007 edition of National Geographic Magazine as one of 12 thumbnail pictures promoting its new puzzle page online.
